Mental Health Skill Building (MHSS)


About MHSS: This training service is for adults with mental illnesses, and is not meant to be clinical nor preventative. This service is designed to train individuals in the functional skills of daily life, including the use of community resources, medication management, and the monitoring of nutrition and physical conditions.   Participants must have Medicaid Insurance. We Provide……………..

•  24-hour Crisis Interventions

• Accessing & Receiving Entitlements

• Securing and Maintaining Housing

• Mother & Daughter Program – Building Behavioral Skills

• Helping with Basic Cooking Skills (Healthy Foods)

• Developing Appropriate Personal & Home Hygiene, Dressing, & Laundry

• Increasing Community Integration with Appropriate Social Skills

• Building Transportation & Shopping Skills  

  1. Educating about Mental Illnesses & Symptoms  

  2. Maintaining Self-Awareness Regarding Symptoms

  3. Identifying Satisfaction in Life                                

  4. Achieving Personal Growth

  5. Budgeting/Money Management Skills                

  6. Maintaining Healthy Lifestyles & Addressing Health           

  7. Accessing & Utilizing Community Resources      

  8. Maintaining Self-Awareness Regarding Symptoms


Intensive In-Home Services: This service is for children and adolescents aged 5 and older with Medicaid Insurance and demonstrate a clinical necessity arising from a condition due to a mental, behavioral, or emotional illness that results in significant functional impairments in major life activities which presents a risk of removal from their own home.

Psycho educational & Support Groups: (Additional groups offered based upon need)

- Dealing with life and grief

  3. -Understanding Teenage Behavior

  7. -Understanding Mental Health                              

  8. -Interpersonal Relationships and Bullying

  9. -Dating, Internet and Pornography  

  10. -Parenting and Stress Management



PSYCHOSEXUAL ASSESSMENTS: 

A complete and thorough evaluation conducted by a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider(CSOTP) for adults and adolescents.  This is a self-pay evaluation.
